Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using Just Lecture, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Just Lecture ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Just Lecture Android application and any related backend services (collectively, the "Service").

By signing in with Google, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Just Lecture. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your Account

3.1 Google Sign-In

Just Lecture uses Google Sign-In for authentication. You must have a valid Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.

3.2 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information during profile setup, including your phone number and course selection. You may update your course selection at any time from the Profile screen.

If you suspect that your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at justlectureapp@gmail.com.

3.4 One account per user

Each person may maintain only one Just Lecture account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.

4. The Service

Just Lecture is an educational video platform that curates and organises lecture content from YouTube into structured playlists and courses, making it easier for students to find and watch relevant educational material.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial, educational purposes.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

7.1 Our content

The Just Lecture App, its design, logo, name, and all non-video content (including our backend services, UI, and organisational structure) are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

7.2 Third-party video content

The lecture videos displayed in Just Lecture are hosted on YouTube and owned by their respective creators and channels. We do not claim ownership of any video content. Your use of such content is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service (see Section 8).

7.3 Your content

You retain ownership of any information you provide to us (such as your name and phone number). By providing this information, you grant us the right to use it solely as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. YouTube Content

Just Lecture accesses video content through the YouTube API. By using Just Lecture, you also agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service (available at youtube.com/t/terms) and Google's Privacy Policy (available at policies.google.com/privacy).

Just Lecture is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. All YouTube content is subject to the rights of its respective creators and channel owners. Just Lecture does not host, download, or redistribute any video content.

If a content creator or channel owner removes their content from YouTube, it will no longer be available in Just Lecture. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or legality of third-party video content.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

Just Lecture is a tool to help you access educational video content. We do not verify the academic accuracy of lecture videos, and use of the Service does not constitute formal enrollment in any educational program.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JUST LECTURE, ITS OPERATORS, OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM (OR, IF THE SERVICE IS FREE, USD $10).

11. Termination

11.1 By you

You may stop using Just Lecture at any time by logging out via the Profile screen. To delete your account and associated data, email us at justlectureapp@gmail.com.

11.2 By us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal activity, or if we discontinue the Service.

11.3 Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7, 9, 10, 11, and 13 of these Terms survive termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by email.

Your continued use of Just Lecture after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the appropriate courts of competent jurisdiction.
